News | TianJin JanHoo Launches O-band High-power SLD Butterfly Device

TianJin JanHoo Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. has launched a 1310 nm high-power SLD butterfly device. It features a typical optical output power of 10 mW, a -3 dB spectral width of 30 nm, and a ripple as low as 0.1 dB. The device is well suited for applications such as fiber-optic sensing, fiber-optic gyroscopes and measuring instruments.

SLD is a semiconductor optical emitting device featuring broad spectrum, low temporal coherence, high output power and high efficiency.

Thanks to these characteristics, SLDs are indispensable for scenarios that require light sources with smooth broad spectra (low temporal coherence), high spatial coherence and relatively high intensity. Currently, they are mainly applied in fiber optic gyroscopes (FOG), optical coherence tomography (OCT), optical time domain reflectometers (OTDR), tunable external cavity lasers, optical fiber communications, fiber optic sensors and optical device testing instruments. Practical applications call for SLDs with higher power, broader spectra, lower ripple and superior temperature stability.

TianJin JanHoo will successively release SLD devices for diverse application scenarios, including products of different wavebands, as well as broad-spectrum, high-power and polarization-maintaining SLDs.
